Is This OK?
In 2013, the UK's ‘biggest child protection scandal’ began to unravel as the lid lifted on decades of organised child sexual exploitation in the north of England. The investigation was complex, but one thing was clear: the victims of these crimes felt unable to turn to the services that were put there to help them. That’s why, in 2016, a group of charities, changemakers and determined techies came together to create a new space where voices no longer felt they had to remain silent.

Age UK – 5 years of friendships
As of Spring 2020, one of the largest health concerns facing the UK just got a whole lot bigger. Chronic loneliness in later life affects 1.4 million people in the UK. Add to the mix social distancing, a national lockdown and shielding for the vulnerable and we’ve got a very real threat to our older friends and family. Age UK works to counter the threat of loneliness. Back in 2016, their digital team came to us with a simple but inspiring tool - the Telephone Friendship Service.
