Reason Digital Becomes a B Corp
We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded B Corporation status, recognising our dedication to positively impacting society through digital innovation.
Reason Digital Becomes a Social Enterprise
Since we were founded 16 years ago, we have been at the forefront of developing innovative digital solutions aimed at improving people’s lives for the better, and it has been our mission to become a more environmentally responsible business through our work in the community.
This is an exciting time to be part of the global B Corp movement that is striving for a more sustainable and inclusive economy and we are delighted to join the expanding B Corp community in Manchester. Achieving B Corp status places us among a rapidly growing group of like-minded businesses, contributing to Manchester becoming the city with the third-largest number of certified B Corps (125) in the UK (2,800) over the past year.
As a social enterprise, it has been a priority for us to solve the problems that really matter in society by delivering social good.
Examples of our impact include our 5 Years of Friendship campaign with Age UK. Using our expertise, we created a solution to combat the debilitating effects of loneliness for older people. We helped to build Age UK’s Telephone Friendship Service to create a lifeline for older people experiencing loneliness, matching them with volunteers who have shared interests for a 30-minute call. The campaign helped a national charity tackle an issue that was faced by over 120,000 older people and the team enjoyed tackling a significant issue.
Another notable project we are proud to be part of is ‘Is This OK’ (ITOK) – a groundbreaking anonymous chatbot service designed to support young people who may feel uncomfortable using traditional helplines regarding exploitation concerns. The pivotal initiative aimed to empower young people to seek the assistance they need in a safe and secure environment, which is crucial.

What are B Corps?
B Corp certification is a rigorous process that validates our efforts to prioritise people and the planet over profits and it emphasises our efforts to be a business that benefits all. The certification commits us to transparency in every area of the business and allows us to continuously improve our offering. In addition, it emphasises the fact we are genuinely committed to ethical business practices, and that we look after our employees.
We were proud to earn an overall score of 97.8 in the B Impact Assessment. Considering the median score for businesses is currently 50.9, we were pleased we could score highly across the board.
We’re grateful to B Lab for the certification and we’re excited to continue developing our growth strategy and keeping our focus aligned with doing good within the charity sector.
