Social Enterprise Awarded People and Planet First Verification
Reason Digital achieves People and Planet First Verification from Social Enterprise World Forum
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
30.11.2023, Manchester, United Kingdom
Reason Digital is delighted to announce that it has achieved a People and Planet First Verification from the Social Enterprise World Forum (SEWF).
For the past 15 years, Reason Digital has been working with charities, not-for-profit organisations and other Social Enterprises to deliver impact through Tech for Good Initiatives. Since becoming a Social Enterprise, we have pledged to return a portion of our profits to society at large. We have also been working tirelessly on creating an exclusive, supportive working environment for all our employees.
Ben White, Managing Director of Reason Digital said, “Achieving the People and Planet First Verification helps us showcase our ethos as one of the few pro-social agencies who have extensive experience delivering digital solutions to those who need it the most. Our vision is of a future where technology drives lasting social good. This Verification is getting Reason Digital one step closer to reaching that goal.”
What does it mean to be People and Planet First verified?
Our organisation has been verified by the Social Enterprise World Forum, because of its international relationship with Social Enterprise UK. For our People and Planet First verification, Reason Digital has proven the following:
- Purpose: Our enterprise exists to solve a social and/or environmental problem.
- Operations: Our enterprise prioritises purpose, people and planet over profit in operational decisions.
- Revenue: Our enterprise has a self-sustaining revenue model or is working towards one.
- Use of Surplus: Our enterprise reinvests the majority of surplus towards its purpose.
- Structure: Our enterprise has chosen legal structures and financing that protect and lock-in long-term purpose.
About Reason Digital
Reason Digital is a social enterprise that uses digital to address society’s complex problems (or, as we put it, problems that actually matter). Our vision is of a future where technology drives lasting social good. We’ve created digital tools that address complex needs for partners like Age UK, The Scouts, and Terrance Higgins Trust.
We take a user-centred, co-design approach – understanding the people and the issues before designing the solution. We split our discovery phase from design and build, ensuring that our discovery co-design exerts a genuine influence over the final product.
We’ve worked with various organisations that seek to support young people and their mental health for over 15 years.
We are dedicated to leveraging technology for positive global impact—an aspiration easier spoken than achieved. In today’s world, technology is more than a tool; it’s an omnipresent force shaping societies, daily lives, and future happiness. The consequences of this influence rest on human choices: its purpose, design, accessibility, and the exclusions it might perpetuate. Our collaborations are limited to clients and causes that champion social good. Our approach harnesses technology to empower users, prioritizing their enrichment over ownership gains. We utilize technology as a tool to better the world, transcending revenue goals or widespread expansion.
