Business Development Manager

At Reason Digital we specialise in using digital to protect, save and change lives, through our work with charities, social enterprises and corporate responsibility projects. Our clients help tackle poverty and homelessness, promote equality and learning, and work towards finding a cure for the diseases that define our times, including cancer, Alzheimer’s and HIV/AIDS.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join the Partnerships team to take the lead with generating and closing new business opportunities.  We are looking for a motivated self-starter who shares our big ambitions, and who thinks and dreams big, to drive the agency forward and to be part of something bigger.

  • You will be expected to: Generate and qualify sales opportunities and leads, acting as first point of contact for all new business enquiries;
  • Nurture, negotiate and close deals within set timeframes;
  • Manage a strong pipeline throughout the year in line with agency targets;;
  • Work with our wider delivery team to provide quotes and approaches for technically complex work;
  • Draw up proposals, as well as planning and delivering pitches to potential clients;
  • Attend industry networking events, as well as Reason Digital events to nurture potential relationships and build the pipeline;
  • Network to promote brand awareness and build relationships with potential clients;
  • Ensure a smooth transition of clients from the sales process to the wider delivery team;
  • Act as an ambassador for Reason Digital, and the work we do;
  • Keep up to date with emerging trends and ideas within digital, and the wider charity sector.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Passionate about sales and the client experience – you will ideally have 2 years’ proven experience within a consultative B2B sales environment
  • Goal oriented and driven by success
  • Entrepreneurial and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Highly motivated with ability to work independently and on your own initiative
  • Ability to balance competing priorities, work under pressure and deliver to deadlines
  • A strong communicator, both verbal and written
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Confident communicating with a wide range of people both inside and outside the agency, including key decision makers at client side
  • Confident in influencing, negotiating and closing deals
  • A team player
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel, including overnight stays
  • Experience within the Digital sector is desired, especially knowledge of design and delivery of digital products, including websites, apps and digital platforms
  • An understanding of the third sector will be highly beneficial in this role
