UX Designer (Mid/Senior) – UK Remote

We are looking for a Mid-Senior UX Designer to join our team. But this isn’t any normal job… at Reason Digital you regularly work on a range of exciting and life-changing digital projects.

  • An app that helps parents and carers of children with serious illnesses, to better manage their complex medicinal routines

  • Web-based peer to peer platform, which helps those in need to apply for the benefits they need and deserve

A remote-first workplace

Like many others, the pandemic has changed how we work. We’re now remote-first as a workplace and flexible with where you spend your time. Some of our team are based in our beautiful home city of Manchester, many others are dotted around the country, and some are overseas. Wherever we are, we’re proud to say that we’re still delivering beautiful and impactful work that changes lives.

For this role, we’re looking for someone that’s Manchester based or UK based. If you’re in Manchester and live for the office life – we’ve got a lovely space in the Northern Quarter set up for our team, five days a week. Or if you’re more of a stay-at-home worker, that’s all good too. And some people might choose a bit of both. We’re flexible.

The role: Mid/Senior UX Designer

Salary: £29,000 – £40,000

We’re looking for someone who believes that digital should be used to solve problems that actually matter. Someone that can articulate how design can be used to improve lives, not just serve customers. Someone who thrives working with external partners and a project team around them. Someone who wants to design for social change, and a genuine commitment towards our cause and our work.

The ideal candidate will have a track record in working in digital design, will relish the nature of agency work and solving a huge range of problems for a diverse set of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Direct design and facilitation work on our projects and products
  • Continuous development of our tools, process and culture
  • Facilitation of internal & external workshops and Sprints
  • Build and nurture direct relationships on each project

Experience

We need you to have some core skills – but we’d love to hear about your own specialities and interests. In terms of what we’re looking for within this role, there are some aspects which we consider to be more important:

Commercial

  • Communicating and working well with our clients
  • Delivering interactive and engaging client workshops
  • Supporting clients to understand the importance of human-centred UX practice

Design

  • Web Design, App Design
  • UX
  • An expressed specialism such as content design, user research or visual design
  • Worked with prototyping tools such as Figma and Sketch

(Not your average) Agency

  • Ideally you’re used to an agency environment (or a comparable environment).
  • Working in the charity sector brings all sorts of warm fuzzy feelings, but it can also bring tighter-than-average budget constraints. We’d love someone who’s not afraid to take on a challenge; delivering great work within those constraints.

Tech for Good

  • We’re always looking for someone who is motivated by design for social change, but as fired up as you may be, experience isn’t always easy to get. So if this is your bag, but you’re yet to get into it – we still want to hear from you.
