We have an exciting opportunity in our marketing team for an aspiring marketer, helping amplify Reason Digital’s impact on society and our people. As Digital Marketing Assistant you will be responsible for our social media and creating engaging content that creates awareness of our brand and everything we do in the charity and Tech for Good sectors. 

Salary: £19,425 – £27,825 

Hybrid role – work from home with a weekly visit to the Manchester office. 

What you will work on

Your key aim is to support the Head of Marketing with marketing activities. You will be responsible for  

Managing Reason Digital’s social media accounts  

  • Research, plan and execute social media campaigns 
  • Frequently engage with our followers  
  • Write copy for upcoming social media posts, considering platform-specific limitations 
  • Create visual assets to be used on our social media 
  • Keep up to date with our client’s social media activity and interactions.  
  • Generate new followers, and engagement and drive followers to key landing pages on our website.  
  • Report on social media activity and KPIs 
  • Edit videos and subtitle them. 

Write blogs, case studies and updates for our website 

  • Research, plan and write SEO-friendly blogs for our website based on our blog plan 
  • Interview internal and external stakeholders for case studies 
  • Writing interesting and engaging case studies that illustrate the great work the Reason Digital team is doing, while introducing our clients and their aims.  
  • Carry out keyword research. 
  • Optimise writing for keywords and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) best practices. 
  • Edit together courses for our skills hub. 
  • Write content for landing pages and publish them on our website. 

Aid the Head of Marketing in creating marketing collateral 

  • Write informative and captivating marketing collateral (presentations, leaflets, brochures etc.) embodying Reason Digital’s tone of voice. 
  • Attend conferences and help publicise Reason Digital (some travel might be necessary). 
  • Work together with the Head of Marketing to execute our marketing strategy and work on outbound and inbound marketing strategies. 
  • Work together with the Head of Marketing in the creation of internal and external comms (newsletters, monthly team meetings, press releases etc.). 

Who is the ideal candidate?

  • Hungry to apply their skills and knowledge to the causes we work with 
  • Relishes the nature of agency work; enjoys taking ownership, working at a fast pace in uncertain situations. 
  • Driven and passionate about producing high quality short and long-form written content. 
  • Has experience of working in and adapting to a niche market (ideally pro-social work). 

Track Record

Your experience includes:  

  • Content creation and social media management 
  • Content writing (short and long-form) 
  • Understanding SEO best practices and knowledge of SEO tools (SemRush, Google Analytics and more.) 
  • Keyword research 
  • WordPress or other website management experience 

Desirable  

  • Working for a small business, agency, startup or other fast-moving organisation 
  • Direct experience of working in the non-profit or social good sector / an interest in social good 
  • PPC skills (Google Ads) 
  • Experience in video editing  
  • Marketing strategy and branding experience

This is an exciting and varied role, with no two days the same. Below gives you a flavour of some of the stuff we’ve worked on, and what you could expect to be doing.

  • Spreading the stories of the great work we do (like Is This OK? and Refuge) through case studies that involve direct communication with our clients.
  • Running networking events such as a Charity Comms pre-event dinner for existing and new clients.
  • Leading and collaborating on comms and PR plans for multiple website releases
